A Green Day

No not the band but class cards two weeks ago! These were some quick and fairly easy cards that I made last year in a green stage that I went through.

The colours are Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The stamping was done with Old Olive and Whisper White. The stamp sets were Live Your Dreams, All Scallops and Embrace Life. These sets are all from the Summer Mini which runs out at the end of the month. I also used the Scallop Edge Punch, 1 3/8", 1 1/4" circle punches.

Last Weeks Class Cards

I have been in a bit of a girly mode lately. The cards that we did in class last week were part of this latest craze I am going through.
The colours for each card are Rose Red and Pretty in Pink with a little Whisper White.
The Flower Bud card was stamped with En Francais background stamp. This was also used to stamp directly onto the Whisper White Taffeta ribbon. The petals were firstly crimped to break down the paper and then punched with the Oval punches. The pearl flower centre is from the Pretties Kit and best wishes is from Short & Sweet.

The second card was also stamped with En Francais background stamp. The flowers are from the Embrace Life set in the Summer Mini. I love this set and fingers crossed we will get it in the new catalogue in April. I have used Whisper White grosgrain ribbon and the hat pin and beads are from the Pretties Kit.
These are two of my favourites from my recent classes. I am not normally a pink person but I enjoyed making these.

The Retired List Is Here

The much awaited Retirement List is here and it is a big one!! As much as I am going to miss some of the fabulous stamps and accessories on this list, I can't wait for April 1 to see what new goodies we are going to get.

Some things are going so quickly and I will try to keep you up to date but if there is anything in particular that you have your heart set on all I can say is get in quick and don't be disappointed.

Take a look at the list HERE. There are some great specials within this list. The items marked with one asterisk* are discounted by 25% and those with two asterisk** are discounted by 50%. It is a good idea to print it out and mark off your catalogue.

A bit of a hot tip is that ink pads are going up next year to $11.95 so now is a great time to get your favourite colours at $9.95.

From The Garden

I have to admit that when I first saw this stamp in the Catalogue I couldn't think of why I would want it and how I would use it. Even when I did get it I still struggled with what to do. One night I was in the mood to play and I felt like colouring in and this looked like a great stamp to colour so I thought why not, give it a try.
Well I was hooked and did 4 cards that night and only stopped because I couldn't see anymore. I had so much fun colouring with the crayons and aqua brushes.
The stamp is From The Garden which is a Level 1 hostess set. The card base is Basic Black and the colours are Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. The word "friend" is from the Wonderful Favourites set.
I stamped with Stazon Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and just kept layering colour until I got the effect I was looking for. The flower has 3 layers so there was a lot of colouring in for this one but like I said, I had so much fun. I used the Mat Pack and piercing tool to create the stitch line on the Pumpkin Pie strip.
Hopefully I will get around to posting the other 3 cards over time and I will miss this one come April. It just goes to show that sometimes you don't know if you like something until you try it.

Pretty Flowers

Unfortunately this stamp is from the Spring Mini Bloomin' With Beauty set but fingers crossed it might come back in the next Catalogue. You can always use the same design with any flower stamp though so I went ahead and posted.

The colours are Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The background has been stamped with the En Francais stamp. The strips have been punched using the corner rounder punch. The ribbon is Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon. I am so going to miss this colour.

If you have purchased any of the In Colour Ink Pads and are still so in love with them, I would suggest buying a Ink Refill so that you can keep them topped up for years to come. You have until the end of March to order these colours so don't get caught out.

I See Giraffes

This card is another one that I created a few months ago but never got around to posting. It was a result of a colour challenge that I took part in.

The colours are Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Pumkin Pie and Very Vanilla. The stamp set is Bundle Of Joy.

I used the watercolour paper to stamp on and coloured in the image using the Blender Pens. These are not colours I would have picked to go together and that is why it was a "Colour Challenge" but they look great together.

Gone Fishing

I have had a little bit of a run on the Fishy Friends set lately as you will see over time. This is an oldy but not posted before.

The card base is Blue Bayou from this years fantastic "In Colours". The green is Garden Green from Earth Elements and Bashful Blue from Soft Subtles.

The image is stamped with Stayzon onto the Watercolour paper and I have blended the colours with the Aqua Pens. The background has been stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Versamark and the Garden Green strip has also been Versamarked. The edges have been roughened with the Cutter Kit tool and there is some stitching effect with the Mat Pack and piercer. This was a fairly easy card to put together but effective.

A Special Birthday

A very good friend of mine is having a special birthday today. Just for once I was a little more organised than usual and got to make the card the day before. That is very novel for me as it is usually 10 minutes before I am rushing out the door. Because I was organised I had time to decorate a box to match. Wow what you can achieve with a bit of planning.

Anyway I am off to lunch to help her celebrate! I hope she is not dissapointed as I said I was organising balloons, music, sky writer and dancing men but I spent that time making the card and box. Sorry but Happy Birthday anyway!

I have used one of the fabulous Sale-A-Bration sets, Botanical Blooms. There is only a few days left to order and be able to get one of these gorgeous sets for FREE!!! I will be sorry not to be able to use this set once it goes so don't miss out.

Paisley Passion

I sat down the other day to get some projects done and tried to limit myself to what I had on the table. The Paisley background stamp was part of the few sets I had out and I will get around to uploading all the things I did with it over the next few weeks. The words are from the Stem Sayings which I have had for ages and haven't really used much. They are such beautiful phrases I am going to dig them out more often. The heart stamp is from Priceless which is another set that needs to be used more often. The cardstock is Ruby Red and Whisper White and the ink is Ruby Red. I think I have just created my Valentines Day card for my MATH. (Man About The House).
