Apothecary Art

My first impression of this set was fatastic for water colouring but it is so much more than that.  It looks great in a single colour and embossed.  So for all of you who are not a huge fan of water colouring, take another look at this one as it is actually very versatile.  It is made to fit with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies perfectly and can make a statement all on its own or as part of a masterpiece.

We used the Framelits to create a "Frame" for the image.  This is so simple to do.  When cutting your Framelit, choose 2 sizes and lay one inside the other evenly spaced and run it through your Bigshot.  We then ran the frame through an embossing folder to add some texture.  This really was a quick and simple card but noone would ever know, they would think you spent ages making it.

Bordering On A Little Romance

When the new Autumn/Winter Mini came out, I couldn't wait to put my order in.  The biggest problem I had was what to get straight away and what to wait for - I'm not the most patient person!

I jusst had to get the very gorgeous Bordering On Romance set.  Of course if you get that you have to have the new Edgelets Dies and matching Embossing folders - of course - right!!!  This was a great opportunity to do some water colouring which we haven't done for some time.

Style Beautiful Birthday

Another of my favourite sets (I have soooo many) is the Style Beautiful set.  It is great for backgrounds or as a centre piece for a card.  This card uses just a little of one of the images showing that you don't need to use an entire stamp to create a masterpiece. The words are from A Word for you minus the - cherry on top.  We learnt a nifty little trick for blocking out part of a stamp set to just ink up the part you want.  What you can't see in this photo is the Vanilla background has been lightly stamped with the French Filigree background stamp to break up the stark look of plain card.

Stamps:  A Word For You, Style Beautiful, French Filigree
Card:      Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Ink:        Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Access:  Postage Stamp Punch, 1" square punch (Summer Mini)

Happy I Do Day

We haven't done a wedding card for a long time and as the Iridescent Ice embossing powder from the Summer Mini was about to finish, I couldn't resist. I just love the fine detail stamp from the Creative Elements set for any formal cards.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I used silver embossing powder on the back layer and iridescent ice on the from layer and then the words are done with the black embossing powder.

Stamp Sets:  Creative Elements, Word Play
Card stock:  Basic Black, Silver
Ink:  Versamark
Access:  Silver, Iridescent Ice and Black embossing powders, gemstones, Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die
