Floret Flowers

 

 

This photo is yet another aweful one.  I definately had a shocker the other day but I am just going to have to run with them or I will never catch up.  The colour is much stronger in real life.

 

This is a Gatefold card using Fabulous Florets again.  There was quite a bit of cutting out in this one but the flowers are easy to cut so it didn't take very long.  The colours are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The punches are Lots of Tags Sizzlits, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches.

 

 

Fabulous Florets

 

Fabulous Florets is such a lovely set and the flowers are easy to cut out although it would still be awesome if there was a punch for them.  Everything should have a punch.

 

Once again a terrible photo and it doesn't show up all the detail of the card but the Pink Pirouette layer has been stamped with the script from French Foliage and lightly sponged around the edges.  We used the Labels Collection Framelits and some Basic Pearls.  The ribbon is the retired Pear Pizzaz seam binding.

Field Flowers Sparkling

Sadly the photo of this card does not do it justice.  It is actually quite sparkly and looks lovely with the light shining off it.

We used Cherry Cobbler ink refill and Champagne Shimmer Paint mixed together and sponged it onto a flower from the Field Flower set.  The flowers are stamped onto Shimmer White card stock so it is a lovely pearly sparkly appearance.

Sadly, the words are from a set that just retired but I am still on catch up from my lack of postings.

Butterflies same but different

 

I made these two cards to show how the same card layout can look different when done in different colour combinations.  We did the black and white version in class.

 

 

We used Basic Black, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock.  The butterflies are cut using the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Bigshot.  The embossing is done with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  The ribbon sadly is retired as is the stamp set used behind the butterfly but you could easily change these for any ribbon or stamp.  Sadly this is what happens when I take too much time to post.

 

 

Medallion Card

I have so many cards to catch you up on I sat down and took photo, after photo and when I came to post them I realised that the front circles of this card had fallen off and in my haste I stuck it on crooked and only just noticed so my apolgies.  I will have to go and fix it up but I just know it will be forever before I get to take more photo's so I am running with this one.  Just imagine the words are on straight (please!)

The medallion was made using the fabulous new Simply Scored Plate.  You cut two strips the same width and length and score at equal intervals (every half inch in this one).  Once finished you concertina fold each strip and stick them together.

The colours for this card are Concord Crush and Pear Pizzaz, both sadly retired.  The punches are 21/2", 13/4" and scallop circle punches.  The words are from Bring on the Cake.  When straight, this is a great card for children, teenagers or the always difficult to do mens cards.

Christmas Cards

 

Starting in July I do Christmas cards once a month.  We actually didn't start until August this year due to holidays so there is a little catching up to do.  These are the first lot we did and the next Christmas class is this week so you are welcome to book in if you want to get an early start on your cards.

 

 

As I have so many cards to post so I can catch up I will just give you a brief rundown on each one.

 

The first card is made with the Shimmer White card stock with the Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper. The words are from a retired set.  The Christmas bauble is from Delightful Decorations and was done with a mixture of Cherry Cobbler and Irridescent Ice Embossing Powders.  By mixing them you get the lovely red of Cherry Cobbler with some sparkle!

 

The second card uses Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Shimmer White cardstock.  The baubles are punched from the silver and cherry cobbler glimmer paper using the Ornament Punch.  The words are from the same retired set. 

 

The third card uses Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Shimmer White cardstock and the sadly retired Medallion stamp.  That is one stamp that I will definately miss.  It is done with the same Cherry Cobbler and Irridescent Ice embossing powders.  The words are from Curly Cute

Trip to the snow

I haven't posted for so long and this is just one of the reasons why.  It has been a very busy time around my household for the past couple of months and to finish it all off we got to get away to the snow for a few days to relax.  Now for me that is a contradiction as I don't find the snow relaxing and have decided to hang up my ski's for good.  I think I am getting too old to learn such a physical sport, nost to mention that I am petrified of breaking or tearing something that will leave me incapacitated for weeks.

The first photo is of my gorgeous daughter on her first day of snow boarding.  She has been skiing for years now and has been wanting to have a go at snow boarding for awile so we finally gave in.  Now if I could look this good after f.  Evalling over, I might be convinced to give it another go but unfortunately I seem to end up with things pointing in all directions!

The second photo is of Lake Jindabyne.  We had absolutely perfect weather for the three days we were skiing and on the last night the winds came up.  After a couple of hours fighting the winds on the snow we left to come home.  This is normally such a lovely calm, flat lake but I think that there were actually a couple of peaks on this lake that could have been surfed.  The kids got out of the car and it was so windy that when the water spray hit them they were dry almost immediately from the wind.

It was a great trip and although I don't think I want to ski again, we stay in a lovely lodge and actually got away with some friends and caught up.  Now I just have to catch up on my postings...

We are going to the snow for a few days on Sunday and I am looking forward to spending a day on a lovely couch in front of a open fire reading a good book before I hit the slopes.

Going, Going, Almost Gone!

Oh no!  The Retirement List is here so get yourself a hot cuppa and a marker, sit down and go through your Catalogue to work out what you can't get by without.

Don't panic when you see all of the ink pads on the Accessories List.  Stampin' Up! are simply replacing them all with a new firm foam pad to improve the stamping quality.  The best this is that you can grab any missing ink pads at a bargain price.  The colours will remain the same.

A few highlights for you:
