Week 2 Class Projects

This week we made this wonderful Back Pack. I got the idea from a talented US Demo, Paula Goff. They are fairly easy to make now that someone else has done all the hard work, thanks Paula, and really cute. They would make a great teachers gift with some little treats in them.

I used Rich Razzleberry card and ribbon along with Cottage Wall DSP from the new Mini. The flower is from Cottage Garden also in the new Mini.

I am looking forward to having some spare time to make a few more of these. I wan't to make some in 'boy' colours also.

We had time to make this cute little gift tag as well. I used the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing folder in the Big Shot which gives a great textured effect. The paper is from Cottage Wall DSP and the stamp from Cottage Garden. This was layered using the small and large tag punch with a bit of twine. The tag was mounted with Dimensionals.

Another Birthday

My son is going to a birthday party tomorrow so of course I had to make a card. Just Jawing seemed like an appropriate set to use for this one.

The colours are Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla. I distressed the edges to give it a grungy look and used the 'Friends' wheel over and over to continue the grunge look in Sahara Sand.

The letters are from Schoolbook Sherif and have been punched with the small and large tag punches. The eyes have been punched with the small star punch. I have mounted half the letters with dimensionals.

I should have made two of these so I had a spare for another birthday but that would have been too clever.

Medallion Birthday

I was a very slack friend on Monday and didn't wish a good friend Happy Birthday. What makes it even worse is I actually saw her briefly on Monday night and it had totally slipped my mind that it was her special day. Bad Friend!!!

We are going out for lunch today and I have put together this card and Voucher Wallet for her and yes there will be a lovely surprise in the Voucher Wallet also.

As I have stated once or twice, the Medallion stamp is my new favourite. I think Melon Mambo might be my new fav colour also.

The card is Melon Mambo, Silver and Very Vanilla. I used Melon Mambo ink and the Silver Encore Ink to stamp the image and then cut it out. Yes even I cut sometimes as most know how much I try to avoid it. Of course there must be Bling so a Rhinestone brad had to be included.

I used the same inking technique for the wallet and added a bit of lift with the Eyelet border punch. The ribbon is some I have had laying around but thought it looked extra girlie and then the hat pin and beads are from the Pretties Kit.

I have to go as lunch is calling and I have been playing all morning and no chores done.
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boys Overalls

I am so in love with this little overall suit at the moment this is the 3rd card I have made. This one is using Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card stock. The sailing boat is from Lifes A Breeze. I used the Piercing tool around the pocket and added a little Riding Hood Red striped ribbon. The 'buttons' are the small star punch with a pewter brad in the centre.
I am going to have to find some time to come up with some other patterns as I only have so many people I could use this type of card for.

Off To The Ball

After my day of pattern making and avoiding my ironing, (I did get some done) I sat down and flicked through some magazines and came across an article on "The Little Black Dress" that is a must have in any girls wardrobe. It gave me an idea for another pattern so I got to play again!

Now this is not quite the little black dress that everyone would have in their wardrobe but it was an obvious design for a card.

I have used Basic Black to the dress and Whisper White for the lining. The hem line has been punched with the eyelet border punch. It may be difficult to see in the photo but I stamped the Polka Dot background with Versamark and used Clear Embossing Powder to give the appearance of patterned fabric. A little bit of Whisper White Taffeta ribbon and you can't have the ball gown without bling so I added a Rhinestone brad and flower from the Pretties Kit to dress it up.

This is another project without much stamping but now my mind is racing as to what other patterns I can come up with.

Catching Up

As I haven't been very diligent with my postings lately I haven't updated you to the Blog Candy winners of the recent Blog Hop that I took part in.
Congratulations to Paula Fuller and Lisa Martin! I am sure that you have all your goodies by now and hopefully you are enjoying creating with them. Thank you for taking part in the Blog Hop.

I would also like to put a request out to all my visitors. I get to see that people are checking in on my Blog from all parts of the world and I would love to hear from you. It would be nice to hear how you found my Blog and get some feedback. Don't be shy, leave some comments!!!

Now seriously, I have to attack my ironing before it takes over my house.

How Cute Is This

Well today I was faced with updating software on my computer, ironing, paperwork, filing or creating. Now that might seem like an easy choice to some but as hard as I tried to do my ironing, creating won out ( ha, as if).

This project was inspired by a photo I had printed out several months ago and when I attempted to attack my filing I came across it. (See there are some bonuses to attempting to doing my chores.) All I had was a photo so I had to turn my hand to pattern making which was more fun than I thought but did slow down my productivity a little. I am sure my ironing could have been finished but!!!

I used Pretty In Pink and Whisper White card stock and some of the Pretties Kit. I have made it so that you only need one sheet of A4 card for the little overalls and then a bit of co-ordinating trim.

I did a boy orientated one also which I will post a little later. I can't do too many posts in one day as you need time to get over the shock that I am actually posting and there is the ironing waiting. Now all I need is lots of friends to have some babies so I have an excuse to make lots more of these. Any takers?????

Class - Week 1

It was so good to get back to classes after the holidays and to catch up with everyone. I was happy to see that some of you had done some creating over the break even though I didn't.

I wanted to start the term back on an easy note so these are the two projects we did this week.

Every woman loves shoes and handbags right, so that was my inspirtation.

There wasn't a lot of stamping done but we got to use the Big Shot and the gorgeous Polka Dots Embossing Folder and I think that Melon Mambo might be one of my new favourite colours. We also played with the Sizzlits 4 Pack Tag Dies which if you have the Big Shot are great value at $39.95 as you get the equivelant to 5 punches!!!! Now if that isn't insentive to get the Big Shot - I don't know what is. After all I had to have it just so that I could have the Manhattan Flower embossing Folder!!

The "Friend to Friend" is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set in the new Catty and this is also a great set as it covers so many occassions.

A bit of the beautiful new Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon in Melon Mambo to set them off and tadaaa! What do you think???

Next week we are making a wonderful little "Back pack" using Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP and Cottage Garden stamps so don't miss out and book your spot now! See you soon.

Class Times

I have had a great holiday and looking forward to classes returning. The first class this term is on Tuesday 20th April. My class times are on the right hand side column of my Blog. The only change I have made this term is I have added a day class to Wednesday and taken the Friday day class off.
I hope that this doesn't inconvenience too many of my wonderful customers but it was a necessary change to streamline my week. Classes will now be:

Tuesday: 10.00am - 12 and 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Wednesday: 10.00am - 12 and 7.00pm - 9.00pm

For the first class we will be doing a Girly Theme with a Shoe orientated card with a matching Handbag card. You will get to use the new Big Shot along with the gorgeous new colours in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

Give me a call or email to book in and I can't wait to catch up with everyone and hear and see what you have been up to over the break.

What Was I Thinking!!

I know I havn't kept my promise and put up any postings over the holidays but I have to admit I have enjoyed just hanging out with my family (quite literally) as you can see by the top photo.
We spend Easter in Port Stephens and the weather was fantastic. We all relaxed and enjoyed the spoils of the Easter Bunny.
We headed off to the Show on the last day and although I have to admit I wasn't overly keen to go it was a great day. I normally only venture onto the Dodgem Cars as my ride of choice as I am a HUGE chicken when it comes to rides but I got conned into being more adventerous this year.
My 11 year old son (who I was willing to put up for adoption after this) talked me into going on the "Hard Rock" ride. Feeling a little uncertain I lined up and didn't actually watch the ride until I got on. As soon as it swung up into the air the first time I knew I had made a huge mistake. My heart was racing and I just wanted to get off. I don't know what my screams would have registered on the rictor scale but I'm sure a whole new level would need to be created!
Well the speed picked up and on the next swing I thought I would need oxygen to survive so I closed my eyes and like a 2 year old believed that this would make it all go away. It kind of worked until I opened my eyes very briefly to check that my 11 year old devil child was doing ok. Second big mistake, I was way up in the air and now thought I would need a shot of adrenalin to get my heart beating again. The eyes slammed shut. Once again I thought what I can't see won't hurt me so lulled into a false sense of security my eyes deceived me and opened again!!! This time I was upside down looking at the ground and about to go on a big drop. Mistake number 3 in about 3 minutes.
My dear little devil child had gone very quiet also as he really isn't that much braver than me on rides and I had to decide whether to open my eyes again or just hope that he hadn't passed out with fear and wait for the end of the ride. Being a candidate for Mother Of The Year I decided I couldn't open my eyes again and just hoped that he was coping better than me.
The ride from hell finally started to flatten out and slow down, I heard a little peak from my son and relaxed a little but then had thougths of what I was going to do to him when my feet hit the ground.
Needless to say the whole family thought it hillarious but didn't ask me to go on any other rides all day. Luckily for my youngest that he is cute and lovable so he got to survive another day. I did get to have a shot at him on the Dodgem Cars and he certainly had a massive target on his car where I was concerned.
Everyone had a wonderful time and after a mammoth 12 hours we all made it home safe and sound.

Happy Easter Everyone

I want to wish you all a very happy and especially safe Easter. Fingers crossed this will be the first Easter in 7 years that it doesn't rain the whole time. Don't eat too much chocolate (as if) and make sure you all get some time to relax and more importantly create!
I will be away until Tuesday hopefully in SUNNY Port Stephens but will be taking the time to relax and won't be doing any stamping!!! UHHHHH I can't believe I just said that but I will be working over the holidays creating some exciting new things for next terms classes. I also haven't forgotten that I owe you all some photo's of what we have been doing so I will get to that when I get back. Boy there are a lot of "I's" in that.

If anyone is interested in the projects posted in the Blog Hop, they will be done in classes next term so let me know if you would like to take part and I will add your details to my contact email. That way you will be kept updated.

Stay safe and hopefully the Easter Bunny is generous!!!
